Jaguar F-Type Coupe Configurator now LIVE. ‘Our’ F-Type Coupe R cost over £100k
It does look like the Jaguar F-Type Coupe – revealed last week at the Los Angeles Auto Show – is all the car we hoped it would be, and more so with the arrival of the 542bhp F-Type R Coupe. With deliveries expected to start in spring 2014, you may have to wait a while to get in to Jaguar’s most appealing car since the E-Type launched 50 years ago, but you can scratch that itch a bit by building your own F-Type Coupe on Jaguar’s new F-Type Coupe Configurator.
The David Brown Automotive Speedback is certainly one of the more intriguing coachbuilt cars we've seen recently -- all the more so because it's a product of Britain, not the carrozzeria hub of Italy. We just got our first glimpse of the Speedback yesterday, and thanks to this XCar video, we can dive a bit deeper into the car's origins and its many design details (unfortunately, there's no on-road footage yet). The Speedback, in the words of DBA founder David Brown, seeks to combine the “classic simplicity of the '60s underpinned by a modern platform with all of the functionality you'd expect from a modern car.”
And it does so successfully, from what we can tell so far.
Well ahead its anticipated debut at the 2010 Geneva motor show, Peugeot has released renderings of the SR1, a new 2+1 concept which showcases the stylistic design direction of the brand's future models. The hardtop convertible concept car is said to embody the new world of Peugeot, reflected by the new Lion badge which adorns its sculpted hood. Designed to explore and reinterpret the 'Grand Touring car' theme, with a long, sculpted hood, flowing body panels made of carbon and a very low center of gravity, the aesthetic traits of the SR1 are claimed to renew Peugeot's strong stylistic identity and create a new design language.
